Data Analyst, Player Recruitment

UK | Remote

Professional Elite Sport

We’re supporting a leading elite sports organisation with the appointment of a Data Analyst, Player Recruitment to strengthen its player recruitment function.

Working closely with recruitment, technical and sporting leadership, this person will use data to support smarter, evidence-led decisions across the full player acquisition cycle — from identifying targets through to assessing suitability and supporting final decision-making.

The role will include:

  • Building and developing analytical models to support player identification and evaluation
  • Combining event, tracking, physical and contextual data to assess performance and potential
  • Producing clear player reports, visualisations and presentations
  • Developing position-specific benchmarks, profiles and shortlists aligned to the playing model
  • Supporting due diligence on prospective signings
  • Working closely with scouts to combine quantitative insight with live observation
  • Improving data workflows, reporting processes and analytical tools across recruitment

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 2+ years’ experience within professional football or an equivalent elite sporting environment
  • Strong understanding of player recruitment and football decision-making
  • Experience working with football datasets and tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL or Python
  • Exposure to recognised football data providers and platforms
  • The ability to turn complex analysis into clear recommendations for sporting stakeholders
  • Strong judgement, curiosity and attention to detail
