Role Description
The Trainee Carbon & Sustainability Consultant is a full-time, hybrid role based in Cardiff, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Supporting senior consultants in carbon footprint assessments.
- Collecting and analysing environmental and operational data.
- Assisting in the preparation of sustainability reports and presentations for clients.
- Contributing to the development of carbon reduction strategies.
- Helping model different scenarios.
- Supporting the implementation of technology-led sustainability initiatives.
The trainee will collaborate with clients to understand their operations, document findings, and help translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
The position offers structured training, mentorship, and opportunities to grow into a fully qualified consultant within the carbon and sustainability field.

Qualifications
- Ability to develop and apply Sustainability Consulting and general Consulting skills to client projects.
- Strong Analytical Skills for data collection, interpretation, and scenario analysis.
- Knowledge or interest in Sustainability Reporting, including standards and best practices.
- Commitment to Sustainable Development principles and climate-related objectives.
- Relevant degree or coursework in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, economics, or a related field.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and data analysis tools; familiarity with data visualisation is an advantage.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-specialists.
- Collaborative working style, curiosity to learn, and willingness to take initiative in a hybrid office/home environment.
