Data Analyst Assistant
We are adding a Data Analyst Assistant to our team to help with a significant project for a major Manchester-based infrastructure consultancy. The work focuses on organizing and verifying large sets of technical data as we move them from fragmented legacy systems into a unified, stable database. This role is about the practical side of data: making sure the information is accurate, clean, and ready for the client to use in their daily operations.
About Pixel Systems
Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency. We do not build flashy consumer apps or marketing sites. Instead, we focus on the tools that teams actually use every day, such as admin panels, CRM integrations, and complex database migrations. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to communicate with each other.
We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward: we provide fixed quotes, perform weekly demos, and hand over everything (the code, the documentation, and walkthrough videos) when we finish. We use reliable, well-tested technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy to maintain. We are a senior team that prefers solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest trends.
The Role
In this role, you will spend a lot of your time auditing data for consistency. A major Manchester-based infrastructure consultancy needs our help to migrate their project records into a new system, and you will be the person ensuring that nothing gets lost in translation. This involves comparing old records against new entries, identifying duplicates, and mapping out how information from one system should fit into another.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The day-to-day work is mostly about accuracy and organization. You will assist our senior developers by preparing data for import and then verifying the results once the migration is complete. This is a fully remote position where you will coordinate with the team through written updates and regular video check-ins to review progress. This is a paid, full-time position, and the pay is competitive for the entry-level market.
What You Bring
- A high level of organization and a natural interest in tidying up messy information.
- Comfort using Excel or Google Sheets for more than just simple data entry, such as using basic formulas or sorting large lists.
- A keen eye for detail, noticing when a date format is wrong or when a record looks out of place.
- Clear written communication skills, which are essential for our remote work environment.
- The ability to follow a process consistently without getting bored by repetitive tasks.
- A logical mindset for troubleshooting why a specific piece of data might not be importing correctly.
- Reliability and the ability to manage your own schedule while working from home.
Helpful Background
- Basic familiarity with SQL or an interest in learning how databases are structured.
- Any experience with data cleaning or auditing, even if it was for a school project or a part-time job.
- A basic understanding of how APIs or different software tools share information.
- Experience using project management tools like Trello or GitHub to track your tasks.
- A background in a technical or analytical subject that required you to work with numbers or logic.

Working at Pixel Systems
Working here means focusing on the work itself rather than internal politics. We are a small team without layers of management, which means you will see the results of your work quickly. Because we are 100 percent remote, we value people who are self-sufficient but know when to ask for help. You will have direct access to senior engineers who can guide you through the technical aspects of the job.
We ship work that helps real people, like project managers and engineers at an infrastructure consultancy, do their jobs more effectively. We do not expect you to know everything on day one, but we do expect you to be curious and diligent about the data you handle. We provide a calm, professional environment where the goal is always to build something that works.
Pixel Systems is a place for people who appreciate stability and clarity. We provide our clients with the confidence that their systems will keep running, and we provide our team with a predictable, remote work environment. If you enjoy the process of organizing data and want to gain experience in a professional software agency, you will find this role rewarding.
