About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data & Reporting Analyst to join our dynamic team on a 6-month contract basis. This role is based in Redditch with a hybrid working model, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work remotely while collaborating closely with onsite teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex data sets, enhancing reporting processes, and supporting critical business decision-making through accurate and insightful reports. You will take ownership of reporting operations, ensuring data integrity, and supporting Power BI reporting solutions. Additionally, you will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs, validate data accuracy, and contribute to service transition activities. The role offers an excellent day rate and the chance to work on impactful projects within a large-scale retail finance analytics programme.

- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis
- Experience with Power BI, including dataset creation, semantic modeling, and refresh management
- Knowledge of data preparation, cleansing, and validation techniques
- Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Databricks or similar
- Strong skills in advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Ability to perform root-cause analysis and manage data quality issues effectively
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and present insights clearly
- A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
Responsibilities
The Senior Data & Reporting Analyst will be responsible for a range of activities aimed at delivering high-quality reporting solutions and ensuring data integrity. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and supporting reporting operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of reports
- Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, datasets, and semantic models
- Supporting data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes using SQL and cloud platforms
- Validating and cleansing data to ensure accuracy and consistency across reports
- Performing root-cause analysis to identify and resolve data discrepancies or quality issues
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Assisting in service transition activities, including documentation, knowledge transfer, and process improvements
- Identifying opportunities for reporting enhancements and automation to increase efficiency
- Supporting the deployment and maintenance of Power BI solutions, including refresh schedules and security settings
