About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Market Data Analyst to join our dynamic team in London. In this role, you will be instrumental in evaluating, onboarding, and maintaining cross-asset class data feeds that support our Venue Analytics, Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA), and Trade Surveillance products. Your expertise will help ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of market data, which is critical for delivering actionable insights to our clients, including investment banks, brokers, asset managers, and exchanges. You will collaborate closely with our Product Data and Development teams to develop proof of concepts (POCs), influence project roadmaps, and enhance our product offerings. This position provides a unique opportunity to work across multiple teams, develop deep expertise in market data, and contribute to innovative solutions that impact the financial industry worldwide.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline, with at least three years of relevant experience working with financial market data. You should have a proven track record in data management, analysis, and manipulation of large datasets, including Level 2 and Level 3 order book data. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as macros, pivot tables, and charts, is essential. Experience with analytical tools like PowerBI, Tableau, or Jupyter, as well as REST APIs, is highly desirable. You should have intermediate SQL skills and basic knowledge of Python scripting; experience with object-oriented programming is a plus. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure are critical for success in this role. A degree in finance, mathematics, or a related field is required, and additional expertise in data modeling techniques and AI applications will be advantageous.

Responsibilities
As a Market Data Analyst at Qontigo, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing and expanding global market data coverage across various asset classes such as fixed income, derivatives, equities, FX, and cryptocurrencies.
- Working with internal teams to onboard new market venues, ensuring seamless integration and data quality.
- Maintaining and enriching a comprehensive reference database that covers market metadata, instrument listings, and company fundamentals.
- Evolving data quality assurance procedures to uphold high standards of accuracy and robustness, supporting downstream applications and analytics.
- Liaising with vendors to identify mandatory feed changes, developing implementation plans, and coordinating updates.
- Conducting research on market microstructure changes and producing models to assess their impact on business operations.
- Analyzing data, generating insightful reports, and communicating findings effectively to stakeholders.
- Supporting the development of deeper analytics across asset classes, responding to client requests for new market coverage, and assisting in the resolution of data delivery issues.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance existing products and develop new features, contributing to the continuous improvement of our market data platform.
