Contract Data Analyst – Credit Risk Finance Transformation | 6-Month Contract | Inside IR35
Investec is looking for two experienced Data Analysts to join our Credit Risk Technology team and support a major Finance Transformation programme.
The programme will introduce a new Oracle finance system and deliver important changes to how finance and credit risk data is managed and used across the organisation. One role will focus primarily on assessing the impact of the new finance system on Investec's credit risk system. The second will concentrate on understanding how downstream teams consume Finance data in the Credit Risk system and what they will need from the transformed finance environment.
You will work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Credit Risk, Technology, Data and Architecture, using your analytical expertise to identify dependencies, shape requirements and support the successful delivery of the transformation.
What will I be doing?
- Analyse, define and document requirements for the Credit Risk workstream of the Finance Transformation programme.
- Assess the impact of proposed technical changes across existing systems, data structures, processes and reporting capabilities.
- Perform hands-on SQL analysis to understand data flows, dependencies, interfaces and system impacts.
- Conduct data-lineage analysis across Credit Risk data and downstream consumers.
- Work with Finance, Credit Risk, Technology, Data and downstream system owners to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, test-data analysis, defect resolution and acceptance decisions.
- Define and support data reconciliation activities, data-quality controls and acceptance criteria.
- Track requirements, decisions, risks, issues and delivery readiness, while providing clear progress updates and supporting knowledge transfer and handover.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
