Data Analyst Intern

We are currently working with a partner in Birmingham to address the friction that slows their internal teams down. As a Data Analyst Intern, you will help us find exactly where their data flow breaks. You will look at manual workarounds that have replaced automated systems and identify the specific points where their routing rules are failing. This is a full-time, fully remote internship for someone who enjoys solving puzzles and fixing things that do not work as intended. You will spend your time looking into the seams of different systems to see where information gets stuck or lost.

About Tech Pipeline

We fix the friction that slows companies down by removing operational drag.

  • We address broken approval chains, manual reconciliations, and systems that do not talk to each other.
  • Our focus is the gap between the software a company already owns and the work that actually needs to happen.
  • We avoid abstract frameworks, choosing instead to rebuild specific routing rules and consolidate drifting backlogs.
  • We stay through the cutover and the first month of live operation to make sure the fix holds.
  • We believe the tool the client already owns is usually the proper place for the fix.
  • We value clear documentation, named ownership, and plain English in all of our internal and external work.

What You Will Do

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Audit datasets to find stale data that causes errors in daily reporting.
  • Assist in rewriting routing rules for internal ticketing and task management systems.
  • Read through system logs to track down where manual reconciliation is currently replacing automation.
  • Update an SOP to reflect how a system actually functions after we have applied a fix.
  • Work in spreadsheets and basic databases to clean up drifting backlogs and organize messy inputs.
  • Help maintain the decision log for each project phase so we know why specific changes were made.
  • Verify that new data entries match the expected format before they move through the pipeline.
  • Assist the senior team during the cutover phase to monitor for any immediate logic errors.

What You Bring

  • Basic familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets, including the use of formulas to sort and filter data.
  • A high level of curiosity about how business processes break and how to put them back together.
  • Willingness to learn basic SQL or other data cleaning techniques on the job.
  • Strong writing skills for creating clear runbooks and documentation that others can follow.
  • The ability to manage your own time and tasks in a fully remote environment.
  • An interest in operational details rather than just high-level summaries.
  • Comfort with admitting when you do not understand a process and asking for clarification.
  • A preference for finishing a task completely over moving quickly to the next thing.

What We Offer

  • A fully remote work environment where your location does not matter.
  • Competitive pay for an internship role that reflects the value of your work and the current market.
  • Direct exposure to real operational problems rather than simulated projects or theory.
  • The chance to work with different technical systems and learn how to handle messy, real-world data.
  • A culture that prizes finished work and stable systems over ongoing retainers.
  • Experience building documentation and runbooks that stay in use long after the project ends.

How We Work

Tech Pipeline operates with a heavy emphasis on written communication and clear evidence. We prefer clear runbooks and weekly written updates over frequent or long meetings. Because we are a fully remote team, we rely on clarity and consistent follow-through. We do not just build a dashboard and walk away: we make sure the people who use the system understand the logic behind the data. We value the habit of documenting every change in a decision log so that no fix is a mystery. Once the client team is stable and can handle the new workflow without our daily intervention, our job is done and we move on to the next source of friction.
