What can you expect as an Intern within our Data Analyst Team?
Purpose
This role will be central to understanding water use in the North West and how we as a company can work with customers to reduce it by 9% by 2030.
Development
We are fitting one million smart meters by 2030 providing billions of meter reads a year. We need skilled data analysts to do cutting edge data analysis within Azure DataBricks to deliver water saving benefit at scale.
Responsibility
You will lead on exploring real life problems through data and working with the wider business to implement solutions that deliver real water saving impact.
What you’ll be getting stuck into day to day
- Helping drive digital transformation by using data to innovate and improve our water saving processes
- Turning large sets of data into clear takeaways and actionable insights
- Creating models and visualisations to support our strategies and daily operations.
- Finding ways to improve our services, making them more efficient and effective
- Taking on real life challenges whilst working as part of a team

What you’ll bring to the team
- To excel in thinking for yourself and problem solving
- To take the lead and own work
- To be data driven (with a good working knowledge of SQL / python or similar)
- To be highly analytical and confident analysing data at scale
- To be a great communicator
- Preferably a 2:1 degree in a numerical discipline

- Salary of at least £25,950 per annum (pro rata)
- 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)

Our recruitment process requires you to complete:

- An in-person interview and presentation
Please note that you must be available to attend an in-person recruitment stage during the period 17th November – 11th December

Based on current immigration guidelines this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Due to the length of the programme being 12 months maximum you will be engaged on a fixed term contract.
