We are partnered with a leading private markets investment firm to hire a Data Analyst into its Investor Relations (IR) team — a role sitting at the intersection of data, technology, automation and commercial decision making.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys getting under the skin of a business, understanding how processes work then using data and technology to make them better.
The Role
You will work closely with the Investor Relations and Technology teams, helping to build a more data driven and automated IR function.
The role will cover a broad range of activity, including:
- Analysing and managing investment and portfolio data
- Supporting investor reporting, RFIs and DDQs
- Building reporting and dashboards in Power BI
- Working with SQL, Python and Excel
- Automating manual workflows using tools such as Power Automate
- Improving data quality, reconciliations and reporting processes
- Working with a new data warehouse and helping turn the underlying data into useful insights
- Identifying opportunities to use AI and automation across Investor Relations
- Thinking about data from an LP/investor perspective, rather than simply producing outputs
Projects You Could Work On
You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects with a tangible impact on the wider team.
Data Warehouse & BI
Investment track record and strategy data is being migrated from Excel into a central data warehouse. The foundations are now in place, creating significant scope to develop Power BI reporting, analytics and visualisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Investor Reporting Automation
Quarterly investor reporting currently involves substantial manual Excel and PDF production across approximately 32 reports. There is an active programme to automate this process, improve accuracy and significantly reduce the operational burden on the team.
AI & Process Automation
There is an open mandate to identify recurring processes across IR where AI, automation or better use of data could improve efficiency. This is not a role where you will simply be handed a fixed list of requirements — you will have the opportunity to identify and shape the opportunities yourself.
Required skills:
The ideal candidate will be someone who combines technical capability with commercial curiosity.
You might come from a background in:
- Data Analytics
- BI / Business Intelligence
- Data & Automation
- Financial Data
- Asset Management
- Private Markets
- Investment Banking
- Consulting
You should have strong experience with Excel and Power BI, alongside SQL and/or Python. Experience with Power Automate, data warehouses or AI applications would be highly valuable.
Private markets or private credit experience is helpful but not essential. More important is an interest in how investment data is used by investors and an ability to understand the commercial context behind the numbers.

The strongest candidates will be people who:
- Enjoy solving problems rather than simply executing requirements
- Can translate a messy business process into a better one
- Are technically curious and excited by AI and automation
- Can communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders
- Understand that good analysis is about the story behind the data
- Think about what an LP or investor actually needs to know
- Are comfortable operating with a degree of ambiguity and ownership
- Want to see their work directly improve how a business operates
You don't need to be a career Investor Relations (IR) professional. In fact, this could be particularly interesting for someone with a strong technical background who wants to move closer to the commercial and investment side of financial services.
Why This Role?
- Build out a new data and reporting capability
- Work with senior Investor Relations stakeholders
- Influence how data and technology are used across the function
- Deliver automation projects with immediate business impact
- Explore practical applications of AI
- Gain exposure to private markets, investors and fundraising
If you're a technically capable analyst who wants to be closer to the business — and would rather build, improve and influence than simply maintain — this could be a particularly interesting opportunity.
