About The Role
Hays Technology is seeking an experienced Power BI Data Analyst to support a critical data and compliance initiative within a prominent public sector organization. This role is initially offered as a 3-month contract, focusing on data cleansing, consolidation, and the development of insightful dashboards and reports. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing data quality, enabling proactive risk management, and supporting regulatory compliance efforts. Your expertise will contribute to delivering meaningful outcomes that improve service delivery and facilitate data-driven decision-making in a complex operational environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data analysis and business intelligence, with proven experience in Power BI development. Essential qualifications include advanced skills in data cleansing, transformation, and modeling, along with proficiency in Power Query, DAX, and Excel. Experience consolidating diverse datasets into reliable analytical models and developing predictive analytics or risk-scoring solutions is highly desirable. Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are critical. Additional advantageous skills include SQL and database analysis, geospatial analysis, and knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.

Responsibilities
- Assess and enhance the quality, consistency, and accuracy of existing datasets to ensure reliable analysis.
- Consolidate multiple Excel-based data sources into a structured and scalable analytical model.
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports tailored for operational teams and senior management.
- Create comprehensive reporting solutions covering inspections, risk assessments, customer communications, and remedial works.
- Analyze historical data to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas of concern.
- Develop predictive analytics, trend-based models, and risk scoring algorithms to support proactive interventions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into effective analytical solutions.
- Ensure data integrity and adherence to data governance standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI tools and reports.
