DATA ANALYST (CONTRACT)

6 MONTHS

OUTSIDE IR35

£350 TO £400 P/D

This is a high-impact contract opportunity for a hands-on Data Analyst to join a fast-moving growth initiative focused on scaling a local marketplace proposition. You will step into an existing work stream, ensuring continuity while bringing structure, pace, and insight to complex and imperfect data.

The organisation is now expanding beyond purely online propositions into local, in-person experiences. Data plays a central role in enabling this next phase of growth, particularly in supporting SME and local partner ecosystems.

The Role and Deliverables

  • Own the end-to-end analytical lifecycle for Near Me, from hypothesis generation and experiment design through to insight delivery and commercial recommendations.
  • Design and lead experiments that measure the incremental impact of local discovery on member engagement, SME growth, and monetisation opportunities.
  • Build and maintain self-serve dashboards and reporting frameworks covering experiment results, data quality, remediation progress, and campaign performance.
  • Identify, assess, and integrate external data sources, including partner and location-based datasets, to improve data quality, coverage, and usability.
  • Apply analytical and AI-enabled techniques to data matching, validation, enrichment, and automated workflows, ensuring reliable and actionable datasets.
  • Partner closely with Product, Commercial, CRM, Partnerships, and Business Analysis teams to solve complex business problems and deliver data-driven decision making.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Amplitude or a similar product analytics platform.
  • Advanced analytical capability with SQL and at least one scripting language such as Python or R.
  • Strong understanding of experiment design, statistical analysis, holdout testing, and measuring incremental impact.
  • Experience working with dbt to transform, model, and manage data effectively.
  • Proven experience building reporting solutions and dashboards using BI tools, with experience in Lightdash, Looker, or Tableau beneficial.
  • Strong experience working with APIs, data integration, and automated data workflows, ideally involving external data sources.
  • Exposure to AI and LLM-powered tools for data enrichment, entity matching, validation, and insight generation.
  • Experience working with data quality frameworks, enrichment processes, and structured validation approaches.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear business recommendations.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining analytical rigour.
  • Understanding of CRM systems, partner ecosystems, or retail-focused data environments would be advantageous.
  • Strong commercial curiosity, with a passion for understanding customer and partner behaviour and using data to drive better outcomes.
