About The Role
You'll bring strong Power BI capability, excellent data management skills and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement. Most importantly, you'll have the energy, initiative and drive to continually improve how we work, helping us deliver accurate, reliable and timely information to our customers.
The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in producing high-quality outputs and is motivated by finding smarter, more efficient ways of working.
- Contract type: 6 month secondment—please note this role has the potential to be extended or made permanent depending on business requirements
- Hours: Full-time 35 hours per week
- Band & Salary: Band 5—£30,110.00 pro rata to reflect contract terms
- Location: The Quadrant: MK (please note for this role you must live within 75 minutes of the location)
- Working pattern: Hybrid working: this role permits hybrid working, employees are expected to work from a Network Rail location for a minimum of 60% of their weekly hours, typically a minimum of 3 days for full-time roles.

Role Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for:
- Gathering, analysing and maintaining training-related data from a range of systems, creating a reliable source of information on training delivery, performance and associated costs.
- Keeping training information and reporting tools up to date, ensuring stakeholders have access to accurate data and regular KPI reporting.
- Helping maintain high-quality data across our training systems, improving accuracy, consistency and completeness to support informed decision-making.
- Investigating and responding to training-related data queries, providing clear insights and information drawn from available systems.
- Analysing data processing and reporting activities, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and enhance how data is managed and reported.
- Acting as a subject matter expert for reporting and data modelling tools, providing guidance and support to help users make the most of available reporting capabilities.
Your Experience And Skills
What are we looking for?
- Experience of data management quality processes
- Experience of systems and software engineering processes and procedures
- Strong analytical skills
- Expert user level in database and spreadsheet construction, analysis and maintenance capability
- Proven ability to work systematically and meet deadlines
What could set you apart when applying?
- Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle models
