About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Finance Data Analyst to join our client’s Technology Business Management (TBM) team. This role is remote, but candidates must be based in the UK. The position is initially until the end of the year, offering an attractive daily rate of £450. The primary focus of this role is to support infrastructure and operations cost analysis by developing and maintaining detailed financial models within Excel and Apptio. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience working with IT finance data, translating complex operational and financial datasets into clear, actionable insights. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making processes by providing transparency into technology spend, cost drivers, and allocation logic, ultimately helping stakeholders optimize their technology investments.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience in data modeling and analysis, with a strong emphasis on Excel-based tools. Advanced proficiency in Excel is essential, particularly in handling large datasets, creating complex formulas, and developing structured models. Candidates should have a solid understanding of financial principles, including cost structures, forecasting, and interpreting financial data. Experience working with unstructured and complex datasets is crucial, along with a track record of building models from scratch and refining existing ones. Desirable qualifications include exposure to Technology Business Management concepts, familiarity with IT or infrastructure cost data, and experience with tools like Apptio. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills are also vital for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and enhance TBM models to support cost transparency initiatives.
- Structure and transform large, complex financial and operational datasets to facilitate analysis.
- Develop and refine Excel-based models that generate analysis and reporting outputs for Apptio.
- Align and reconcile data from multiple sources, including general ledger, vendor data, and operational systems.
- Translate raw data into structured TBM outputs such as cost views, cost drivers, and allocation logic.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues, inconsistencies, and anomalies to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with TBM, Finance, and Service teams to validate and improve the usability of outputs.
