Data Analyst - Birmingham - Hybrid Working (2 days onsite) - SQL - Power BI - Financial Services
We're on the hunt for a proactive Data Analyst to join a well-established financial services business in Birmingham. You'll work closely with teams across the business to get to grips with their data and reporting needs — but this isn't just a "build the dashboard and move on" role. We want someone who's excited to help grow the their team into a predictive analytics function and build out self-service reporting, so stakeholders can get more of their own answers without waiting on a request queue.
You don't need financial services experience to apply — we'll happily bring you up to speed on the industry side, if you have then great. What matters more is that you're genuinely curious about data, love digging into the "why" behind the numbers, and can see your career developing in this space long-term.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
