Role Overview

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our IT department. Reporting into our IT Systems Manager, this role will maintain, develop and optimisation of data enterprise solutions. Supporting the data lifecycle, including data ingestion, modelling and reporting across the IT Systems.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support data activities, data integration, warehousing and business intelligence
  • Maintain and develop data ingestion processes using ELT methodologies
  • Design and build scalable data pipelines and orchestration workflows
  • Support data loading and change data capture processes
  • Monitor data quality, integrity and performance across data platforms
  • Maintain medallion architecture layers in a data lake to manage structured and semi-structured data
  • Apply data modelling best practises to support enterprise reporting and analytics
  • Building data transformation logic and identifying opportunities to improve data quality, useability and accessibility
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and translate into technical solution
  • Creating and maintaining documents for IT systems and assist building on the documentation process within the department
  • Drive innovation in IT, reviewing current technology offerings and identifying improvements within department responsibilities
  • Manage projects through lifecycle, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders engaged throughout
  • Implementing new solutions and providing training to other technology teams including full documentation and walkthroughs
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, ISO 27001, SOX and organisational security policies
  • Respond in a flexible and adaptive to supporting business requirements, when ad hoc requests are made
  • Troubleshooting and resolving data issues from a helpdesk and ensuring these are managed though our incident management processes
  • Performing security tests and ensure system integrity to maintain a secure IT operating environment for the business
  • Produce root cause analysis reports in case of failures and issues and work alongside problem management processes
  • Be available to work on IT systems outside of usual ‘Business Hours’, both planned and unplanned
  • Travel when required to Formula 1’s business sites and partners premises
  • Keep abreast of developments in the IT Industry and consider proactively how these may be incorporated into the IT Systems Applications

What Are We Looking For?

Personal Qualities

In this role it is essential that you are:

  • Proficient communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly and confidently
  • Experienced documentation and organisational skills
  • Highly motivated and well-structured in managing tasks
  • Positive, adaptable, and flexible when faced with challenges
  • Proactive, with a solution-oriented mindset

Experience

Prior to the role it would be essential that you have:

  • Proven experience in data activities
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric including Data Factory, OneLake, Spark
  • Knowledge of DataFrames, Partitioning, Performance Tuning, Notebook Development, Spark SQL, Delta Tables, Data Modelling, Semantic Models
  • Good customer service, communication and team working skills

Some desirable experience that you may bring to the role:

  • Microsoft Power BI
  • Microsoft Azure Data Factory
  • Promotion & Release Management, CI/CD pipelines, Git-based Integration
  • Experience working in a global organisation across different time zones
  • Experience working within the sports / entertainments industries and working with major events.

Qualifications

You will need to have current UK driving license in this role. Not essential to be successful in the role but you may also have the following qualifications:

  • Degree, HND/C in IT related Subject or Industry recognized
  • Certifications in relevant subject categories. Database Specialty or equivalent cloud certifications
