About the Company
This is a global software business whose products sit in the hands of millions of people and small businesses every day. The team hiring here is the data science function inside Customer Success, and their remit is the international side of the business rather than the home market. That distinction matters. The reporting, the metric definitions and the data foundations that exist for the largest market simply do not exist at the same standard everywhere else, and this team is the one closing that gap.
They are also building AI into the analytics workflow properly rather than bolting it on at the edges. Automated insight generation, AI-assisted summarisation, anomaly detection, replacing manual reporting with something that runs itself. They're hiring a Business Data Analyst on a 10-month contract to build those foundations and turn them into reporting the international teams can genuinely run on.
Why This Role is Worth a Look
Contract analyst roles are usually maintenance. You inherit someone else's dashboards, you keep them alive, you answer ad hoc requests, you leave. This is not that. The core problem is that the data underneath customer success in these markets is inconsistent, and nobody has owned fixing it. You would be defining metrics, working with engineering on pipelines, and deciding what good looks like, then building the reporting layer on top of your own foundations. There is a genuine blank page here, which is rare on a contract.

What You'll Own
- Foundations. Working with engineering on pipelines, data integrity, metric definitions and governance across multiple regions and countries. Building things that hold up consistently across markets while flexing for local reality, whether that is regulatory, language or a different workflow. Automating recurring reporting and validation so accuracy stops depending on someone remembering to check. Structuring data and taxonomies so they are actually usable by models downstream.
- Reporting and dashboards. Scalable, readable dashboards that connect the end to end customer journey rather than optimising one touchpoint in isolation. The audience is international teams making decisions in their own markets, so relevance beats volume.
- Deep dive analytics. Root cause work on customer pain points, digital adoption gaps and operational inefficiency, translated into recommendations that change staffing, routing and escalation levels rather than sitting in a deck.
- AI-native analytics. Using Gen AI tooling to automate recurring insight generation, support summarisation and anomaly detection, and find the manual workflows worth replacing outright.
- Experimentation. Supporting A/B testing and digital experience evaluation. Baselines, monitoring, quantified impact, and a clear read on what deserves to scale. That includes measuring the customer impact of the AI-assisted experiences themselves.

Who This Suits
- Around eight years or more in data analytics or data science, ideally somewhere near customer success, operations or digital experience.
- Contact centre or digital support KPIs are a strong plus.
- Technically, SQL is the non-negotiable. Extraction, transformation and pipeline work, at a level where you are comfortable being the person others check their numbers against. On top of that, strong BI tooling: Tableau, Qlik or Power BI, and ideally more than one of them. Snowflake and Databricks for the big data side, plus Spark and ETL exposure. Alteryx for prep and workflow automation. Python for the analytics, automation and experimentation work that BI tools cannot reach. Statistical method and A/B testing knowledge is expected; machine learning and Gen AI experience is a plus rather than a gate, but real curiosity about it is not optional here.
- The requirement people underestimate is the storytelling. This team's output only counts if non-technical stakeholders in other countries act on it. If you can build the model but not carry the room, you will find this harder than the tooling list suggests.
The Setup
- 10-month contract, with a good chance of extension.
- £285 per day, inside IR35.
- London based, 2-3 days a week in the office.
