Job Description

If you enjoy working with data and automating business processes, and have experience in data analysis, dashboard development, and process automation, you will be helping NEC reimagine how work gets done by leveraging technology.

NEC’s Data & Analytics team delivers technical solutions and insights that help employees track performance, adapt quickly, and meet objectives while also providing solutions to automate routine business processes.

The team operates at every level of the organisation and has a mandate to create a data-driven culture.

This is a fixed-term contract of 12 months.

What will you be doing?

  • Collaborate with other Data & Analytics Developers to deliver the team’s vision and roadmap defined by the Data & Analytics Manager.
  • Work closely with stakeholders at every level across NEC to translate business requirements into scalable, efficient, and user-friendly solutions.

Of course, this isn’t the only thing you might be doing; daily you may also be:

  • Contribute to the data discovery and design of the data model for analytical projects.
  • Create and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Develop and automate workflows using Power Automate to streamline and optimize business processes.
  • Build and deploy custom business applications using Power Apps to solve business challenges and enhance productivity.
  • Maintain reporting datasets and dataflows.
  • Help with documentation and optimizing analytical reporting delivery process.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure reporting assets are compliant and secured.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate, and SharePoint to recommend enhancements.
  • Identifying new areas of influence for the Data & Analytics division.

Who are we looking for?

  • Solid experience in Power BI Development including DAX queries, Power Query, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in Power Apps and Power Automate development.
  • You have a keen interest in data analytics and workflow automation.
  • Strong diligence and critical thinking skills.
  • You have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Able and willing to travel throughout the UK if required.

Qualifications

What qualifications and expertise are required?

  • Knowledge of Power Tools (Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate).
  • Experience of creating reports, dashboards, and using M query.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Teams, etc).
  • Exposure to AI concepts or willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex situations at the appropriate level to both end users and technical staff.
  • Treats everyone with respect; Builds trust and long-term relationships; Adheres to policies and procedures.

What will give you the edge?

  • Any exposure to any of these systems: Ms Fabric, Azure Data Services, Salesforce, SAP ECC Business Warehouse, Dynamics CRM.
  • Commitment to learning new technologies.
  • Knowledge of Python, TSQL, and Excel Scripting.
