About the Opportunity

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join one of our client organisations in the United Kingdom as a Data Analytics Intern. This opportunity is aimed at students, recent graduates, and aspiring analytics professionals who want to develop practical experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, and visualisation.

The role provides exposure to real-world datasets and analytical projects while working alongside experienced professionals. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to transform data into meaningful insights and support data-informed business decisions.

Role Overview

The Data Analytics Intern will assist with data preparation, analysis, reporting, dashboard development, performance tracking, and insight generation.

The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of Excel, SQL, statistics, and data visualisation, along with strong attention to detail and an interest in solving business problems through data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and organise information from databases, spreadsheets, and other sources.
  • Clean, validate, and prepare datasets for analytical use.
  • Identify trends, patterns, relationships, and anomalies within datasets.
  • Analyse business information to support operational and strategic requirements.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc analytical reports.
  • Develop dashboards and visualisations using business intelligence tools.
  • Monitor KPIs and performance measures and highlight important changes.
  • Write SQL queries to retrieve, combine, filter, and validate data.
  • Perform data quality checks on analytical outputs.
  • Use Excel and spreadsheet tools for calculations and analysis.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear business insights.
  • Assist with presentations and summaries for stakeholders.
  • Work with different teams to understand reporting and analysis requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for datasets, reports, dashboards, and methodologies.
  • Support improvements and automation of recurring reporting activities.
  • Participate in project meetings and analytical reviews.
  • Research emerging analytics tools and industry practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently studying towards or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
    • Data Analytics
    • Business Analytics
    • Data Science
    • Computer Science
    • Statistics
    • Mathematics
    • Economics
    • Information Systems
    • Engineering
    • or a related discipline.
  • Foundational knowledge of data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet tools.
  • Basic understanding of SQL.
  • Understanding of statistical and analytical concepts.
  • Familiarity with data cleaning and validation.
  • Ability to interpret quantitative information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Experience creating dashboards and analytical reports.
  • Knowledge of PivotTables, lookup functions, formulas, and Excel reporting.
  • Experience using SQL for data analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of Python data analysis libraries.
  • Understanding of descriptive statistics.
  • Familiarity with data storytelling.
  • Understanding of KPIs and business performance metrics.
  • Exposure to reporting automation.
  • Interest in business intelligence and analytical technologies.
