We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Data Analytics Manager, Redress Analytics, Commercial Banking.
Customer redress is an important and distinctive area of banking. When something has gone wrong, our work helps identify affected customers, calculate what they are owed and ensure they receive fair and accurate financial remediation. Your analysis will directly support HSBC in putting things right for customers. We’re looking for an experienced senior analyst who can combine strong technical capability with business acumen, independent judgement and the confidence to influence stakeholders.
You’ll take ownership of analytical workstreams across complex redress projects, from investigating the initial issue through to identifying affected customers, calculating redress and supporting delivery. Working with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Redress Operations, Product, Risk, Regulatory Compliance, Legal and other stakeholders, you will challenge assumptions, translate complex issues into robust analytical approaches and shape practical, evidence-based solutions. This is an individual contributor role with no direct line-management responsibility. You’ll have the autonomy to drive your work forward, coach or mentor colleagues and learn from them.

In this role you’ll:
- Lead complex analytical redress projects from initial investigation through to delivery
- Using GCP’s BigQuery, analyse large and complex datasets from varying platforms and environments to identify affected customers and calculate the redress they are owed
- Apply business judgement and analytical evidence to challenge assumptions and shape effective solutions
- Build trusted stakeholder relationships and influence decisions through clear, credible recommendations
- Communicate complex findings, risks and limitations to technical and non-technical audiences
- Produce accurate, traceable and reproducible analysis and documentation that can withstand governance, regulatory and audit scrutiny
- Identify opportunities to automate manual pain points, increase transparency and streamline Redress Operations
- Apply dashboards, AI, machine learning and other analytical techniques where they can deliver practical value

- Strong business acumen, analytical reasoning and structured problem-solving skills
- The confidence and curiosity to investigate complex issues in depth and challenge constructively
- A track record of taking ownership and delivering complex analytical work independently
- Strong stakeholder-management, influencing and communication skills.
- Experience analysing and manipulating large, complex datasets.
- Practical coding experience using SQL, Python, SAS or comparable analytical languages
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, quality, control and clear documentation
- Knowledge and experience of financial services or another regulated environment would be highly advantageous
