Data Analytics Manager | Energy & Commodity Trading | £150,000 - £180,000 + 50-100% Bonus | 5 days in office – LDN
Data Analytics Manager required for a Physical Commodities Trading firm, that own, operate & manage the freight to transport Commodities round the world, whilst themselves executing on Physical Energy & Commodity products such as LNG & Oil Products. Their technology is used for their internal traders, as well as by their external customers to work out prices of products, Commodity arbitrage, what route, storage, market conditions, supply/demand and regulatory requirements.
💰Base salary £150,000 - £180,000 + Bonuses often 50-100% + Benefits

Confident in applying AI tools to analytics and business workflows
About the Role
As a Data Analytics Manager within the Data team, you will manage a team of business stream aligned Data Analysts. You will also be a hands-on Data Analyst working on Enterprise initiatives. You’ll sit between the Analytics function and different business departments from front office traders/brokers, to Finance, Legal, Operations & Corporate/sales team to understand how they work, where data can help them, where control is being lost, and deliver practical data driven solutions: Self-service reporting, dashboards, automated workflows and AI-enabled tools.

As the Data analytics manager, you will need to be commercially driven, and be able to work in a fast paced environment, where there is an emphasis on change. You’ll be encouraged to lead divisions away from manual, fragmented processes, towards simple, data-driven and automated ones. Setting Data Management best practises with regards to identifying, documenting and maintaining data assets within a central data catalogue.

Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Data & MI Analysts.
- Cultivate relationships with the Heads business streams to understand their current needs for data & how data can help solve business challenges and speed up decisions.
- Identify and analyse structured and unstructured data across the business streams, both internally generated and externally sourced (e.g. market data). Document how it relates to other datasets, how it flows through the organisation, how it is stored and how it is used.
- Design, build and maintain dashboards, reports and self-service tools, that people rely on in their daily work
- Develop analytical models and calculators that support planning, budgeting, performance monitoring and operational decision-making
