Data Analytics Manager

Department: Technology
Reports to: Head of Data, Analytics & AI
Direct Reports: Data Analysts (2)
Location: Bedfordshire (1 day per week in office)
Base Salary: £65,000 – £80,000
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Stanton House is partnering with a private equity-backed business currently undergoing a significant transformation programme and looking to appoint an Analytics Manager to lead the development and evolution of its enterprise analytics capability.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the design, development and continuous improvement of the organisation's analytics and business intelligence capability. You will own the delivery of reporting, dashboards and analytical products, ensuring solutions are accurate, scalable, performant and commercially relevant across the business.

Working at the intersection of data, technology and commercial decision-making, you will combine technical leadership with active involvement in dashboard development, advanced analysis, platform administration and analytics delivery, while building and mentoring a high-performing team. A key focus of the role will be driving the adoption of self-service analytics and AI-enabled analytical practices to improve speed to insight, productivity and business engagement while ensuring robust governance, security and control frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of Data Analysts, managing priorities, workloads and delivery.
  • Provide hands-on analytical leadership and establish best practices across reporting, dashboard development and data analysis.
  • Support performance management, development planning and career progression.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, peer review and knowledge sharing.
  • Champion the effective and responsible use of AI-enabled analytical tools.

Analytics Platform & BI

  • Own the organisation's analytics and reporting environment, ensuring reliability, usability and scalability.
  • Manage platform administration, including user access, permissions, licensing, capacity planning and governance.
  • Oversee semantic models, certified data sources and metric definitions to ensure consistency and trust in reporting.
  • Establish standards for dashboard design, accessibility, performance, documentation and visual best practice.
  • Lead testing, certification and release processes for reporting products.
  • Drive dashboard optimisation and ensure reporting assets remain performant and user-friendly.
  • Design and deliver strategic reporting and analytics solutions from requirements gathering through to production deployment.
  • Develop and maintain a self-service analytics framework that empowers users while preserving governance and data integrity.
  • Partner with data engineering and technology teams to ensure reliable and trusted data assets underpin analytics delivery.

Commercial Insight & Business Partnering

  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, Operations, HR and Corporate Functions.
  • Translate complex business challenges into analytical solutions and actionable insights.
  • Develop a strong understanding of business performance drivers and strategic priorities.
  • Identify trends, risks, opportunities and performance improvements through proactive analysis.
  • Prioritise analytics initiatives based on business value, effort and organisational impact.
  • Present findings, recommendations and business cases confidently to senior leadership.
  • Drive adoption of reporting and analytics tools through stakeholder engagement, training and education.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for analytics maturity and capability growth.

AI & Innovation

  • Drive the practical adoption of AI technologies across the analytics lifecycle.
  • Leverage AI tools to improve analytical workflows, documentation, report development and insight generation.
  • Evaluate opportunities for natural language querying, AI-assisted reporting and automated insight generation.
  • Establish governance frameworks covering validation, accountability, data security and responsible AI use.
  • Measure the effectiveness of AI-enabled analytics initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to enhance analytics capabilities.
  • Ensure all AI-enabled activity aligns with organisational governance, security and data protection standards.

Governance & Operational Excellence

  • Maintain a catalogue of reporting assets, certified metrics and business definitions.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, access management and information security requirements.
  • Champion data quality and consistency across all analytics outputs.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring reporting issues and recommending long-term solutions.
  • Assist with budget planning, licensing management and resource forecasting.
  • Report on analytics adoption, service performance and strategic progress.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong hands-on experience leading analytics within a commercial environment.
  • Proven experience owning and developing enterprise reporting and business intelligence capabilities.
  • Expert knowledge of modern BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or equivalent.
  • Strong dashboard development, platform administration and performance optimisation experience.
  • Advanced SQL skills with a strong understanding of dimensional modelling, semantic layers and reporting architectures.
  • Proven ability to translate business challenges into actionable analytical insights.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering with senior leadership teams.
  • Previous people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management and team development.
  • Demonstrable success driving dashboard adoption, self-service analytics and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience managing competing priorities within a fast-paced business environment.
  • Experience adopting AI-enabled analytical tools and establishing appropriate governance.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working with modern cloud data platforms, data warehouses and broader data engineering principles would be advantageous.
  • Experience with Python, R, statistical analysis, forecasting or advanced analytics methodologies would be desirable.
  • Experience managing third-party analytics vendors or consultancies would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of data governance, master data management and data quality frameworks would be beneficial.
