DATA & ANALYTICS SOLUTION ARCHITECT — FULLY REMOTE
£600 per day inside IR35 — SC cleared or SC clearable
THE ROLE
A UK central government department is building out its analytics estate and needs an architect who can design it properly and then defend the design.
It sits across AWS and Azure, with data warehousing and data lakes underneath and Power BI in front of it. EMR and Spark on the processing side. You will produce the architecture views, the high-level designs and the patterns, take them to governance, and get them approved.
It is a design role with a delivery edge. You will sit with engineers and domain architects and make sure what gets built is what was agreed, and you will be the person who explains a complex solution to people who do not want the complexity.
YOU WILL
- Design data and analytics solutions across AWS and Azure, and own the architecture views for them
- Produce high-level solution architecture documentation and design artefacts to an agreed standard
- Present designs at governance forums and get them through
- Create solution options and recommendations at discovery and inception, and make the technology choice proposals
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions with traceability the business can actually follow
- Work with domain and lead architects and with engineering to make sure delivery matches the approved design
- Identify and iterate architecture patterns, reduce complexity and cut technical debt
- Contribute to the architecture community and share reference architectures
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

WHY THIS ONE
It is remote. Not hybrid, not two days a week, not "flexible" with a hub attached. Government architecture contracts at this rate almost always come with a commute, and this one does not.
SC clearable, not SC held. The clearance gate is what keeps most people out of central government work, and this role only asks that you could get it, not that you already have it.
£600 a day inside IR35 for a design role where the artefacts you produce actually go somewhere. The governance is real, which means the work is real.
And the scale is public. Analytics in a department this size is not a dashboard project — it is the reporting layer that people make decisions on.
