Mid-Level Data/AI Engineer
Location: Farringdon, London (hybrid, one to two days a week in the office)
I'm working with a growing fintech and AI consultancy, delivering data and AI engineering projects for some serious names in financial services, who are hiring a mid-level engineer to join the team and grow into more senior responsibility as they scale.
What you'd be doing:
- Building and maintaining data pipelines and AI/ML systems for client projects
- Working with Python day to day, alongside LLM APIs for real client use cases
- Working directly with senior engineers on production-grade, compliance-aware AI outputs, not toy projects
- Getting exposure to the full lifecycle, from data engineering through to deployed AI systems that clients actually rely on
- Having a real voice in technical decisions, even at this level

What we're looking for:
- Two to four years' experience in data engineering and/or applied AI/ML
- Solid, practical Python experience in a work environment
- Some experience working with LLM APIs
- Comfortable with production data pipelines; exposure to SQL, cloud infrastructure (Azure) or backend development is a bonus
- Curious, self-directed, and keen to grow quickly; this is a team that will invest in you
- Financial services exposure is useful but not essential; the right mindset matters more
