The Opportunity
EY’s Global Tax Centre of Excellence (CoE) Data & AI team plays a prominent role in leading client transformation initiatives by leveraging Data & AI as core capabilities. The team seeks to architect reusable patterns and process blueprints to drive scalability across all EY Tax technology teams in key markets.
As a Data & AI Lead, you will:
- Stay at the leading edge of technology development.
- Contribute to the successful transformation of EY Tax and its clients.
- Shape agentic workflows, AI-ready data products, and scalable architectures.
Role Purpose
The Data & AI Lead is responsible for designing and architecting agentic tax workflows, grounded in AI-ready data products and robust data engineering.
This role sits at the intersection of:
- Tax domain understanding
- Data architecture and engineering
- Applied AI and agent orchestration
You will ensure agents are integrated with trusted, timely, and well-structured data, enabling scalable deployments across clients and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
1. Agentic Workflow & AI Design
- Design agentic workflows for tax processes, including:
- Task-level agent responsibilities
- Agent-to-agent communication patterns
- Human-in-the-loop & escalation models
- Feedback loops and agent performance monitoring/evaluation
- Define reusable agent blueprints aligned with Lean-derived task definitions
- Apply cutting-edge agentic design and development methodologies, such as:
- Use of Codex, Factory AI, GitHub Copilot
2. Data Architecture & AI-Ready Data Products
- Design and oversee AI-ready data marts that:
- Expose tax data at the correct grain level (granularity)
- Maintain lineage and quality controls
- Support deterministic and probabilistic reasoning
- Lead data ingestion and transformation from:
- ERP systems
- Tax platforms
- Semi-structured documents
- External data sources

3. Agent Governance & Security
- Apply design-led thinking to embed governance and security for agents and workflows:
- Ensure compatibility with client governance models (e.g., Microsoft Copilot 365)
- Design real-time controls and risk monitoring
4. Platform Strategy
- Architect scalable solutions deployable within:
- Client environments (e.g., ServiceNow with workflow-orchestrated agents)
- EY-hosted platforms
- Ensure IP retention via:
- Reusable agent blueprints
- Data mart patterns
- Orchestration logic
- Delivery assets (e.g., design/build agents, security/governance blueprints)
5. CoE & Asset Development
- Serve as technical authority within the CoE
- Develop reference architectures, patterns, and accelerators
- Support Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), pilots, and scaled deployments
Required Experience & Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent with 15+ years’ experience in:
- Data architecture, data engineering, and analytics
- Building SQL databases and data modelling
- Hands-on technical roles in modern data platforms (e.g., Azure ML, Databricks, MLflow)
- Deep expertise in applying AI/ML or advanced analytics in production environments
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (e.g., C++, Java, Python) with experience in:
- Key ML libraries (PyTorch, PySpark, scikit-learn, Hugging Face Transformers)
- Data modelling, governance, and quality fundamental to operations
- Experience in advocating technical strategy and operating models
- Comfortable collaborating across:
- Business stakeholders
- Data & AI engineers
- Strong written/verbal communication and problem-solving ability
- Technology enthusiast with an unsatiable desire to learn and stay ahead

Desirable:
- Previous work in Tax Technology or Finance platforms
- Experience with agentic AI concepts, orchestration, or automation
- Hands-on familiarity with cloud data platforms and modern AI stacks
