Role Description
The Data and Intelligence Lead (Volunteer) is a full-time remote role responsible for designing and managing the organization’s data and insights framework.
- This position leads the collection, organization, and analysis of data related to innovation projects, partner activities, and ecosystem trends, transforming findings into clear dashboards, reports, and recommendations.
- The role collaborates closely with leadership and project teams to inform strategic decisions, assess impact, and identify opportunities for new initiatives.
- Day-to-day responsibilities include setting data standards, overseeing data quality, selecting appropriate tools and methods, and presenting insights in accessible formats to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- The Data and Intelligence Lead also mentors volunteers or contributors working on data-related tasks and supports the development of a culture that is informed by evidence and continuous learning.

- Strong skills in data analysis, data visualization, and working with datasets using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Experience in developing data strategies, setting data governance standards, and designing reporting frameworks or dashboards.
- Ability to conduct research, synthesize complex information, and translate findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Familiarity with basic statistical methods, performance metrics, and impact measurement for programs or innovation initiatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as operations, programs, and partnerships, to support data-informed decisions.
- Background in data science, analytics, economics, social sciences, business, or a related field is beneficial; degree or equivalent experience welcomed.
- Interest in innovation, startups, and ecosystem-building in the UK or globally, with a commitment to inclusive and ethical use of data.
- Prior experience in a leadership, volunteer management, or mentorship capacity is an advantage.
