Role Description
The Data Annotator role is a part-time, remote position responsible for labeling, categorizing, and verifying data used to train and improve AI models. On a day-to-day basis, the Data Annotator reviews text, images, audio, or other data types, applies predefined guidelines, and ensures accurate and consistent annotations. The role involves following detailed instructions, maintaining productivity and quality standards, and flagging ambiguous or problematic data for further review. Data Annotators collaborate with project leads and quality reviewers, attend occasional virtual training sessions, and adapt to evolving annotation tools and workflows. This position is well-suited for individuals who are detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and able to meet deadlines in a remote environment.

Qualifications

- Ability to perform meticulous data review and annotation with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capacity to follow complex written guidelines, apply rules consistently, and provide clear rationale when needed.
- Comfort with digital tools, web-based platforms, and basic productivity software used in remote workflows.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to provide concise feedback on data quality or guideline issues.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage part-time schedules, and meet productivity and quality targets.
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or data labeling concepts is beneficial but not required.
- Previous experience in data entry, quality assurance, content moderation, or similar roles is an advantage.
- Reliable internet connection and a suitable remote working environment.
- Relevant education or training in fields such as data science, linguistics, computer science, or related disciplines is a plus.
