Role Overview:
Hands-on Data Architect | AWS | Insurance & AI Readiness
Build the data foundations that make enterprise AI possible.
SR2 Consulting is looking for a hands-on Data Architect to support an insurance transformation programme, shaping how data is integrated, governed and made available for operational use, analytics and future AI capabilities.
This suits an architect who can move between business conversations, technical design and detailed work with engineers. You’ll understand what insurance teams need from their data and how to translate that into a practical AWS architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the existing data landscape, including source systems, integration dependencies and gaps in data quality.
- Define a target architecture and a realistic migration path that supports immediate business priorities and longer-term AI adoption.
- Design patterns for ingesting, transforming and serving data across insurance applications and AWS services.
- Work with engineers on data models, interfaces, pipelines and implementation decisions.
- Establish appropriate approaches to ownership, metadata, lineage, access and data quality.
- Consider how future AI and agentic applications can securely access reliable business context.
- Explain architectural choices and trade-offs clearly to technical teams and business stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
