Job Title: Data Architect

Location: London

About the Job

The Data Architect will be responsible for defining and governing enterprise-wide data architecture, data models, taxonomy frameworks, and reference data solutions that support strategic business, regulatory, risk, and resilience objectives. The role will drive the design of scalable data foundations, entity resolution frameworks, knowledge graph structures, lineage capabilities, and governance controls across complex banking data ecosystems.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, governance functions, risk teams, and architecture communities to establish trusted, high-quality, and reusable data assets across the enterprise.

Hybrid Working

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role

Enterprise Data Architecture

  • Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical enterprise data models.
  • Define enterprise-wide data standards, modelling practices, and architecture principles.
  • Establish scalable and reusable data architectures supporting strategic data initiatives.
  • Conduct source system analysis and assess data structures, dependencies, and integration opportunities.

Taxonomy, Reference Data & Entity Management

  • Design and implement enterprise taxonomies and reference data models.
  • Develop identifier mapping, crosswalk frameworks, and entity resolution strategies across disparate systems.
  • Define golden source and master data patterns to improve consistency and data accuracy.
  • Establish reference data governance standards and stewardship processes.

Graph & Knowledge Data Architecture

  • Design graph data models including nodes, relationships, measures, attributes, and provenance structures.
  • Support the development of enterprise knowledge graph and connected data capabilities.
  • Define modelling standards for graph-based and semantic data solutions.
  • Enable relationship discovery and enhanced data traceability across critical domains.

Data Governance, Lineage & Quality

  • Define enterprise data lineage and provenance architectures.
  • Establish data quality frameworks, controls, monitoring, and remediation approaches.
  • Support implementation of governance policies, stewardship models, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Drive data transparency, traceability, and accountability across the data lifecycle.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
