Azure Data Architect | Azure SQL Data Warehouse | Greenfield Programme
UK Based only | Remote First working (ad hoc meetings South Wales)
Are you an experienced Azure Data Architect looking for the opportunity to shape a greenfield enterprise data platform from the ground up?
We're partnering with a growing consultancy who are undertaking a major transformation programme and are looking for a hands-on Azure Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of a modern Azure Data Warehouse solution. This is a highly visible role where you'll influence architecture strategy, drive technical decisions, and work closely with engineering teams to deliver a scalable, secure and future-proof data platform.
This is not a purely governance-focused architecture position. You'll remain close to delivery, leading and collaborating with Data Engineers, validating designs, reviewing solutions, and contributing technically throughout the project lifecycle.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the architecture and delivery of a new Azure-based data warehouse platform
- Reviewing, challenging and enhancing existing high-level solution designs
- Collaborating with engineering teams to produce detailed technical designs
- Defining architecture standards, best practices and long-term technology roadmaps
- Providing hands-on technical leadership throughout delivery
- Working alongside Data Engineers to build production-ready solutions
- Reviewing code, designs and technical deliverables to ensure quality and consistency
- Driving architectural decisions across security, governance, scalability and performance
- Engaging with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Supporting deployment, release management and CI/CD processes within Azure DevOps
- Promoting modern engineering practices across data, cloud and DevOps teams

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
