Oracle Data Architects | 3 Positions | £700/day | Hybrid, London or Manchester plus Birmingham
Three data positions on one of the largest Oracle Fusion transformations running in UK government. Data is the part of this programme that decides whether the rest of it works. These three roles own that between them: the design, the assurance of the design, and the specialist depth underneath it.
Read the three below and tell me which one you are applying for. If you are not sure, send your CV anyway and I will tell you.
DATA ASSURANCE ARCHITECT SFIA 6 | Oracle Fusion experience preferred, not essential
A solutions architect with deep data architecture knowledge, assuring the design against the wider programme solution.
- Assure the proposed data design against the overall programme architecture
- Drive understanding and approval across the full architecture domain — technology, security, integration, data, business and service
- Orchestrate alignment between the programme core, the government shared services provider, the department and the systems integrator
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture needs
This is the one for you if you have assured somebody else's design rather than produced it, and can hold your own across every architecture domain in the room.
DATA SME SFIA 5 | Oracle Fusion experience preferred, not essential

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The authority on what is in the legacy estate and what the rules say has to happen to it.
- Deliver insight across data warehousing, data modelling and data architecture
- Set best practice for legacy data, cleansing, augmentation, extraction methods and integration
- Own regulatory requirements and policy alignment for data
- Assure the proposed solution for management of legacy data across its lifecycle
- Work with the architecture team and the shared services provider so the solution is compliant, integrated and future-facing
This is the one for you if you know legacy data properly — what has to be kept, what has to go, and what the regulator will ask about it.
DATA ARCHITECT — ORACLE FUSION HR SFIA 6 | Oracle Fusion HR experience is essential on this one
Oracle Fusion HR data architecture with hands-on HR data migration expertise
- Collaborate across a multi-supplier environment to deliver programme objectives
- Consult independently with senior stakeholders, resolve issues and manage risk on a complex Oracle Fusion delivery
- Provide client-side assurance across the design
This is the only one of the three where Oracle Fusion is a hard requirement. If you have migrated HR data into Fusion, this is your role.
WHAT MATTERS ACROSS ALL THREE
- Genuine architecture or data specialist capability rather than delivery management
- Comfort operating across a multi-supplier landscape where you influence rather than instruct
- Central government or large regulated programme background
- Oracle Fusion data experience is what the client would most like to see, and it is only essential on the HR architect role

WHY THESE ONES
This is Oracle Fusion delivery at national scale, across multiple suppliers, with real complexity in the data and in the stakeholder landscape. Legacy data migration into Fusion at this size is not a common thing to have on a CV, and the people who have done it well are not easy to find. Two of the three roles do not require Oracle Fusion at all. If you are a strong data architect, a data assurance specialist or a legacy data authority from any enterprise background, you are in scope. The location pattern is also unusually workable for a programme of this size. Two fixed days, one of them flexible between London and Manchester, and Birmingham expensed.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
