New Exciting Opportunity for the Role of Data Architect
Location: Warwick (3 days onsite)
Contract Duration: 6 Months.
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Architect to lead and govern NGET's enterprise data architecture, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives, data transformation initiatives, and regulatory requirements. This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and driving the organization's data architecture roadmap, supporting the transition towards a Data Mesh operating model, and establishing data architecture standards, principles, and governance frameworks. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data product teams, platform engineering teams, and senior leadership to enable scalable, secure, and compliant data solutions.

Your Profile
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Extensive experience as a Data Architect, Enterprise Data Architect, or Lead Data Architect within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of modern data architecture principles, including Data Mesh, Data Fabric, and cloud-based data ecosystems.
- Proven experience designing and governing enterprise-wide data platforms and data operating models.
- Deep knowledge of data modelling, data integration, metadata management, and data governance practices.
- Experience supporting regulatory and compliance requirements within complex organizations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence senior business and technology leaders.
- Experience working across data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, and AI functions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making capabilities.

Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience within regulated industries such as Energy, Utilities, Financial Services, or Telecommunications.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- TOGAF, DAMA, or equivalent architecture and data management certifications.
- Experience implementing Data Mesh principles and domain-oriented data ownership models.
- Familiarity with data governance and enterprise architecture frameworks.
