Business Data Architect — Contract

£600 per day (Inside IR35, umbrella) | 12 months | London (hybrid) | Lloyd's Market Insurer

A leading Lloyd's syndicate is hiring a Business Data Architect on an initial 12-month contract to drive and build out their Business Data Architecture practice within Data Operations.

This is a genuinely strategic seat — not a delivery BA role. You'll set the direction for how business design, change and improvement across the organisation aligns to the data strategy, and act as the bridge between Business, IT, Change and Data teams.

What you'll be doing:

  • Providing direction, guidance and definition of business architecture to support the data and business strategies
  • Applying business modelling methods to identify organisational capabilities as a corporate knowledge resource for BaU, Project and Change initiatives
  • Acting as SME on business architecture frameworks, tool suite selection, design and methodology
  • Reviewing and evaluating new products, technologies and business models — taking ideas from ideation through to prototyping
  • Determining the best path to solve data-related business problems, whether that's process improvement, systems enhancement, user training or software procurement
  • Supporting the design and build of system integration solutions and business applications

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
