Job Title: Data Architect
Location
5 days a week on-site in either London or Reading
Day Rate
£500/day (OUTSIDE IR35)
Contract Length
3 Months (extendable)
Data Architect - Role & Responsibilities
- Assess the current data landscape and architecture across Customer, Finance and Network domains, including the existing GCP/BigQuery Data Lakehouse.
- Conduct stakeholder workshops and interviews to understand business drivers, data flows, pain points and architectural requirements.
- Map data sources, integrations, ETL/ELT pipelines and data flows, identifying duplication, silos, quality issues and scalability gaps.
- Design the target-state data architecture, including data models, technology stack, governance framework and data ontology for future AI/analytics use cases.
- Produce architecture documentation, data inventories, maturity assessments and technology roadmaps, presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Data Architect - Required Experience
- 10+ years' experience in Data Architecture/Data Engineering, with strong experience designing enterprise data platforms and target-state architectures.
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP and BigQuery, ideally within a large-scale Data Lakehouse or enterprise data environment.
- Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT, data integration, APIs, batch processing, CDC and data modelling.
- Experience with data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage and MDM, with an understanding of security and GDPR requirements.
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with experience delivering architecture assessments, workshops and data strategy/roadmap engagements; Telecoms experience highly advantageous.
