Your new role

Capgemini is expanding its architecture capability for one of our largest UK Public Sector clients. In this role, you will help to shape and deliver data and analytics solutions that directly support client priorities: improving efficiency, maximising revenues, reducing fraud and responding rapidly to policy challenges.

We are looking for Data Architects with a specialism in data-related technologies who can operate across the full data lifecycle and design enterprise-level data architecture for complex programmes. These include cloud migrations, data management, data virtualisation, lakehouse deployments and the creation of modern data pipelines. You'll put client requirements and industry best practice at the heart of delivery to help build world-class solutions that move from design into live service safely and successfully.

Our Data Architects act as technical leaders from the outset. They own end-to-end solution design through delivery and implementation into live operation. The successful candidate will often support the development of commercial proposals and provide technical solution governance throughout the lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Architect, you will take ownership of the solution design and guide delivery teams through complex technical decisions ensuring solutions are robust, governable and deliverable into live service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing data architectures, including cataloguing, metadata, lineage, quality, ownership and classification, to ensure data is trusted, discoverable, secure and fit for purpose from source to consumption.
  • Taking architectural ownership of how data is designed for consumption by both humans and autonomous agents, including analytics users, applications and AI-driven services.
  • Providing architectural direction on the safe and governed adoption of AI and agent-based capabilities within data and analytics platforms.
  • Producing architectures and designs for complex end-to-end data solutions, including data storage and management, ETL/ELT, reporting and analytics.
  • Advising clients on architecture/infrastructure, platform and engineering best practices across data warehouse / data lake solutions and modelling concepts.
  • Taking ownership of client requirements, deliverables and accountabilities, ensuring adherence to architecture governance processes, industry best practices and alignment with the client's architecture vision.
  • Driving solution development and documentation, ensuring good architectural practices are applied throughout the lifecycle.
  • Providing architectural oversight and direction on behalf of our clients, including governance at all stages.
  • Building trusted-advisor relationships with clients through boldness, honesty and credible technical leadership.
  • Managing relationships with vendors, third parties and key internal stakeholders across Capgemini.
  • Owning technical problem management and resolution relevant to the solution development.
  • Contributing to and actively participating in Capgemini's Architecture practice and community.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
