The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to join a dynamic data and technology team working on large-scale, business-critical data products within the retail sector.

You will play a key role in designing and developing modern data solutions and models, working closely with Product Owners, Engineers, Analysts, and the wider Architecture community.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Data Architecture and Data Modelling, with experience working across large and complex datasets. You will be responsible for creating structure and consistency across data and reporting environments while ensuring solutions align with business requirements and the wider target architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and triage new data requirements, understanding their impact on existing models and providing estimates for required changes.
  • Develop and enhance conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support evolving business requirements.
  • Own and maintain data modelling standards within delivery teams, ensuring adherence to agreed principles and governance.
  • Design data solutions that meet business requirements while aligning with the target and end-state architecture.
  • Document, communicate, and centrally manage data models and associated architecture artefacts.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Engineering teams, Analysts, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective data solutions.
  • Collaborate with the wider Architecture community to promote consistency, knowledge sharing, and innovation.
  • Support the development of scalable data warehouse and analytical architectures.
  • Apply appropriate modelling approaches depending on the business requirement, including 3NF, Dimensional Modelling, and Data Vault.
  • Keep up to date with developments in data, analytics, machine learning, and modern data technologies, identifying opportunities to improve data architecture and modelling practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
