Data Architect - 12 months - Remote 1 day a month in Leeds client office - rate £500-600 per day inside IR35 depending on experience
This temporary contract is inside IR35 and will require working under the direction of the client delivery manager as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will follow established delivery processes and working practices.
This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and be eligible for UK Security Vetting at SC level. Clearance sponsorship will be provided where required. Due to the nature of the work, candidates should meet the relevant residency requirements. If applicable, reserved post nationality restrictions will be confirmed by the client. Working in the SSO programme, primarily on the staff index workstream working into the SSO / IAM Purpose
- Designs and builds data models to fulfil the strategic data needs of the workstream as defined by the solution architect.
- Designs data architecture by dealing with specific business problems and aligning it to enterprise wide standards and principles. Works within the context of well understood architecture and identifies appropriate patterns.
- Undertakes design, support and provides guidance for the upgrade, management, de commission and archive of data in compliance with data policy. Also to provide input into data dictionaries.
- Works with metadata repositories to complete complex tasks such as data and systems integration impact analysis. Maintains a repository to ensure information remains accurate and up to date.
- Undertakes data profiling and source system analysis and can present clear insights to colleagues to support the end use of the data.
- Aware that data needs to be aligned to the needs of the end user. Able to create basic visuals and presentations.
- Responds to problems in databases, data processes, data products and services as they occur. Initiates actions, monitors services and identifies trends to resolve problems. Determines the appropriate remedy and assists with implementation of these as well as preventative measures.

Key Requirements:
- Detailed understanding & knowledge of data architecture principles and patterns.
- Demonstrable experience in the implementation of data patterns, interoperability, APIs, Microservices, Metadata Management.
- Knowledge of enterprise data management lifecycle and in at least 2 data architecture areas Governance, Security, Data Quality, MDM, API design and management etc.
- Extensive experience in data designing.
- Knowledge of and experience in Data Architecture creation and/or delivery for small or medium projects.
- Understands the concepts and principles of data modelling and is able to produce, maintain and update relevant data models for specific business needs. Reverse engineers data models from a live system.
- Develops data standards for a specific component. Analyses where data standards have been applied or breached and undertakes an impact analysis of that breach.
- Understands what data governance is required. Capable of taking responsibility for the assurance of data solutions and making recommendations to ensure compliance.
- Extensive evidence of identifying and documenting functional and non functional requirements for a particular project or programme function, whilst challenging ambiguous requirements.

Desirable:
- Knowledge of and experience of using Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachmann, PEAF, etc.
- Knowledge of Healthcare Technologies.
- Knowledge of messaging, directory and interoperability standards.
- Knowledge of development techniques and development platforms / environments / languages.
- Knowledge of international Health informatics specific standards (SNOMED CT, FHIR, OpenEHR, EN ISO 13606 and EN ISO 13940).
