Data Architect

Location: London or Bristol, UK

Contract: Inside IR35

Rate: GBP 395 to 400 per day

Experience: 10 - 15+ years


We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to join a banking transformation programme. The role will focus on enterprise data architecture, cloud data platforms, data modernization, and data migration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data architecture and data modernization initiatives within the banking environment
  • Design scalable and secure data platforms using Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Define data models, data integration, and data migration strategies
  • Develop data governance and data management frameworks
  • Support modernization of legacy databases and migration from IBM Db2 to cloud platforms
  • Work with platforms including BigQuery, AlloyDB, PostgreSQL, and Cloud Spanner
  • Work with business, application, and technology teams to define target data architecture and roadmaps
  • Support data lakes, ETL and ELT pipelines, and API-based data integration
  • Ensure data architecture follows security, governance, and regulatory requirements

Key Skills

  • Strong experience in Data Architecture and Data Modelling
  • Hands-on experience with GCP and cloud data platforms
  • Experience with BigQuery, AlloyDB, or PostgreSQL
  • Experience with IBM Db2 and database modernization
  • Strong understanding of ETL and ELT
  • Experience with Data Migration and Data Integration
  • Understanding of Data Governance and Data Management
  • Experience with Data Lakes and APIs
  • Good understanding of data security and regulatory requirements
  • Banking or Financial Services experience is required
