Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of large-scale cloud data platforms for clients within the UK Insurance and Financial Services sector. This role is ideal for a senior professional with deep expertise in AWS, Databricks, and MongoDB, combined with strong domain knowledge in insurance.
Location: United Kingdom (Hybrid)
Experience: 12+ years
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own enterprise-wide data architecture frameworks and cloud data strategies
- Design and implement scalable Lakehouse architectures leveraging AWS and Databricks
- Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Lead data modernisation initiatives, including migration from legacy platforms to cloud environments
- Establish best practices for data governance, security, lineage, and data quality
- Partner with business leaders, engineering teams, and executive stakeholders to align data solutions with strategic objectives
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to data engineers and wider data teams

Required Domain Expertise

- Strong experience within the UK Insurance sector, particularly Specialty Insurance and Reinsurance
- Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks including FCA and PRA
- Familiarity with Solvency II reporting requirements
- Experience working with insurance data models and reporting structures
