Data Architect – Databricks, Syndigo, Collibra – Global Retailer

Outstanding contract opportunity for a Data Architect who can shape, govern, and elevate a global enterprise data landscape for a renowned retailer. If you thrive in modern data ecosystems, enjoy designing scalable architectures, and know how to bring structure to complex environments, this role will suit you perfectly.

What You’ll Own:

  • Architecting end-to-end data solutions across cloud and on-prem environments
  • Designing robust data models, ingestion frameworks, and governance patterns
  • Partnering with engineering, product, and business teams to define standards and drive adoption
  • Ensuring data quality, lineage, cataloguing, and compliance across the organization
  • Guiding best practices for analytics, reporting, and metadata management

Core Skills & Experience:

  • Databricks – strong hands-on experience with Lakehouse architectures, Delta, and scalable pipelines
  • Syndigo – practical knowledge of product content management and data syndication workflows
  • Collibra – solid understanding of data governance, cataloguing, lineage, and stewardship
  • Teradata (awareness) – familiarity with legacy warehouse environments and migration considerations
  • Power BI & Tableau (awareness) – understanding of BI consumption patterns and semantic modelling
  • Ideally some retail sector experience

What You Bring:

  • A strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into architectural blueprints
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale data environments
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A passion for modern data platforms, governance, and building future-proof solutions
  • A willingness to work in Reading 1-2 days per week (the rest remote)

£575 - £600 per day Inside IR35. Reading & 80% remote. 6 months rolling.
