Data Integration Architect – Secure Data Integration
Active SC & NPPV3 mandatory
Late October 2026 – 31 March 2027
Hybrid UK, with travel to secure customer locations/occasional central London meetings
Day rate - TBD
A leading digital consultancy are looking for multiple experienced SC/NPPV3 cleared Data Integration Architects to support the Alpha development of a complex and highly secure data integration capability.
Essential experience
- Active SC clearance and NPPV3 – non-negotiable requirement
- Significant experience as a Data Architect, Data Integration Architect or Information Architect.
- Experience designing secure integration solutions across multiple complex or legacy source systems.
- Understanding of federated/distributed data access architectures, where information remains within source environments.
- Experience with common/canonical data modelling and source-to-target data mapping.
- Strong experience designing RESTful APIs and OpenAPI specifications, including versioning and contract management.
- Knowledge of data provenance, lineage, metadata, source attribution and auditability.
- Experience with authentication, authorisation and policy-based access controls.
- Experience designing for partial results, timeouts, source failures and operational resilience.
- Ability to produce architecture artefacts and work with delivery teams to validate designs through working prototypes.

Key responsibilities
- Design secure, reusable data-integration architectures across heterogeneous source systems.
- Develop integration patterns that separate common services from source-specific adapters and configuration.
- Define consistent API contracts covering search, retrieval, response structures, pagination, versioning and error handling.
- Map different source schemas into a common or canonical data model.
- Define approaches for maintaining provenance, lineage, source attribution and request history.
- Support the design of authentication, authorisation, policy controls, encryption and audit logging.
- Design for predictable behaviour when source systems are unavailable, slow, incomplete or return conflicting results.
- Define monitoring, diagnostic and resilience requirements for the integration layer.
- Produce architecture diagrams, data flows, mapping specifications and technical design documentation.
- Establish repeatable approaches for onboarding additional organisations and data sources.
- Contribute to the operating model and roadmap for progression from Alpha into Beta.
- Comfortable working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary and potentially multi-supplier environment.
- Information Exchange Standard (IES / IES Next).
- Policing Records Management Systems or other operational policing platforms.
