Data Architect

London | Contract | Inside IR35 | Up to £650 per day

Data Architect | Financial Services Transformation Programme

We are supporting a major financial services transformation programme and are seeking an experienced Data Architect to play a key role in defining and delivering a modern cloud-based data platform.

This is a hands-on architecture position requiring an individual who can design target-state solutions across ingestion, modelling, governance and consumption layers, while remaining closely involved throughout delivery. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, leading architecture discussions, and defending design decisions within governance forums.

The role would suit a technically strong architect with experience modernising legacy data estates and delivering enterprise-scale cloud data transformations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the target-state data architecture.
  • Design end-to-end solutions across data ingestion, transformation, storage, modelling and consumption.
  • Establish architecture standards, design principles and best practices.
  • Lead architecture governance and review forums.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure successful implementation of architectural designs.
  • Drive migration from legacy data platforms to modern cloud-based solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership across data architecture, data modelling and platform design.
  • Align architectural decisions with business objectives, governance requirements and strategic roadmaps.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
