Data Architect - Senior
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data Architect - Senior based in United Kingdom.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the data architecture of a large-scale information management and modernization initiative. You will help transform fragmented reporting environments into an integrated enterprise data ecosystem that supports reliable analytics and decision-making. The position combines enterprise data architecture, modeling, ETL, data quality, governance, and reporting validation. You’ll work across complex data environments while helping establish scalable and well-governed solutions. Strong collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders will be essential to translating business needs into effective data architectures. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced data professional who enjoys solving complex information challenges and driving modernization.
Accountabilities
- Design and support enterprise data architecture for a large-scale data integration and modernization initiative.
- Help consolidate multiple reporting data marts into an integrated Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), along with supporting data marts and views.
- Perform data profiling and analysis to understand existing data structures, relationships, quality issues, and integration requirements.
- Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with enterprise architecture and business requirements.
- Design and support ETL processes for integrating and transforming data from multiple source systems.
- Work with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and related technologies to build and maintain reliable data integration workflows.
- Define and implement data quality practices, validation processes, and controls to improve the accuracy and reliability of enterprise data.
- Support reporting and analytics teams by validating datasets and ensuring data structures meet downstream reporting requirements.
- Contribute to enterprise data governance, information management, security, and cybersecurity practices.
- Conduct architecture risk assessments and provide recommendations to address technical and architectural risks.
- Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and other subject-matter experts to translate complex requirements into practical data solutions.
- Communicate architectural decisions, data models, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Management, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience providing architecture risk assessments and architecture-related services.
- 2+ years of experience working in or with public-sector environments, with an understanding of public-sector policies and practices.
- 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and enterprise data solutions.
- 5+ years of experience using data modeling and architecture tools such as SAP/Sybase PowerDesigner or equivalent platforms.
- Strong experience with enterprise data warehousing, ETL, data marts, facts, dimensions, and dimensional data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Strong SQL skills and solid experience working with relational databases.
- Experience with Power BI or comparable business intelligence and reporting platforms.
- Strong understanding of information management, data governance, data quality, and cybersecurity principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to work through complex data architecture challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently, assess architectural risks, and make sound recommendations in a complex enterprise environment.
