Nixor Data Architect / Senior Data Modeller Opportunity

Nixor are supporting a major UK financial services organisation as they continue to build a brand-new Group Data & AI function, and we're looking for an experienced Data Architect / Senior Data Modeller to join the team.

This is a hands-on enterprise data modelling and design role.

You'll help develop and expand the organisation's Enterprise Data Model, working with different business domains to understand their data and define how core business entities, attributes and relationships should be structured and standardised across the organisation.

You'll take requirements from the business and translate them through conceptual and logical data models into detailed designs and source-to-target mappings that Data Engineers can use to build trusted, reusable data products.

The ultimate goal is to create a consistent enterprise view of data that can be consumed across reporting, analytics, BI, data science and AI.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We're particularly interested in people who have experience of:

  • Designing and developing Enterprise Data Models
  • Conceptual, logical and physical data modelling
  • Defining core business entities and relationships across different data domains
  • Canonical data modelling and standardising data from multiple source systems
  • Producing detailed source-to-target mappings
  • Creating and maintaining ERDs, data definitions and modelling standards
  • Using modelling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, Sparx EA or PowerDesigner
  • Metadata management, data lineage, data quality and governance

You don't necessarily need to have every technology listed above.

We're more interested in finding someone who is genuinely experienced in designing the structure of enterprise data — rather than someone whose modelling experience is predominantly statistical/ML modelling or purely reporting/semantic modelling.

Why Join?

The organisation is setting up a Data & AI office and as a result is making a significant investment and are still at an early enough stage that you'll have a genuine opportunity to influence how enterprise data is designed, governed and consumed.

Rather than inheriting a mature Enterprise Data Model, you'll help develop, expand and improve it, creating the foundations that future analytics, data products and AI initiatives will depend upon.

It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the hands-on modelling and design work, but also wants the scope to influence standards, architecture and the wider direction of an emerging enterprise Data & AI capability.
