Position Description
Help leading organisations turn complex data estates into secure, scalable platforms that deliver lasting business value. As a Senior Data Architect within CGI’s Tech Advisory Practice, you’ll shape strategic data transformations for large and complex organisations, providing architectural leadership from early discovery through to delivery. Combining deep expertise across Microsoft Azure and/or Databricks with strong consulting skills, you’ll translate business ambitions into practical technology strategies and modern data architectures. You’ll have the autonomy to influence critical decisions, explore innovative approaches and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, while drawing on the expertise of a collaborative CGI community. This is an opportunity to shape high-value transformation programmes and help clients build the data foundations for their future.
CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.
Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will take ownership of shaping data technology strategies and architectures for complex client environments. Working with senior stakeholders, you’ll understand business outcomes, assess existing data landscapes and translate strategic objectives into secure, scalable and governed solutions. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
