In the current climate, many of NTT DATA’s clients are unsurprisingly looking for advice and solutions related to DATA and AI. NTT DATA UK already has a phenomenal reputation in this area; we want to go further and faster in 2026 and beyond.
The Public Sector Chief Data officer serves as a thought leader and trusted advisor. Fostering strategic, long-term partnerships with Departments across Central Government, Defence, Justice and Health. Understanding the unique dynamics of Government combined with deep understanding of transformation opportunities available to Government today, this role is instrumental in driving the success of data-driven engagements, pursuing transformative business opportunities, and managing high value portfolios.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead Public Sector Data stakeholder strategy and advisory to all clients. Engaging from the very earliest engagement through to sale completion; at all levels of government.
- Work within the Global Data & Analytics practice, collaborating with enterprise architects and programme managers, to scope, design, plan and cost Data engagements.
- Build close relationships with current and prospective public sector clients to develop data-related opportunities, delivering compelling insight, opinions and formal presentations.
- Own some aspects, such as solution assurance, of the ongoing relationship.
- Provide strategic technology partner engagement to support Public Sector Go To Market initiatives.
- Generate Public Sector specific thought leadership and offerings to further position the organisation within the market sector.
- Maintain a utilisation target of 20% with the remainder of your time focused on market facing activity.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, fostering the development of emerging leaders.
What experience you’ll bring:
Required:
- 15+ years of dedicated experience in the professional services industry with extensive public sector engagement including supporting the successful win of key Public Sector procurement wins and data technical assurance of their deliveries.
- 10+ years commercial exposure positioning complex data solutions and systems.
- 10+ years in leading or contributing to end-to-end data projects.
- Extensive data and analytics background in enterprise settings, focusing on data and AI solutions.

Nice to have:
- Demonstrated history of achieving high levels of client and employee satisfaction.
- Proficient in contributing to developing and executing account strategies.
- Experience in diverse environments, including "Big 4" Management Consulting, Civil Service or GSI’s.
- Proven success and a keen interest in leading and managing teams.
- Undergraduate or Graduate degree.
