Data Audit Analyst
3 month FTC (Fully Remote)
£40,000 pro rata | Immediate start | 100% remote (UK-based)
We’re supporting a business that needs an experienced Data Audit / Data Quality professional to complete a 3-month project reviewing and validating the underpinning data that supports an HMRC submission.
This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely enjoys number crunching, following data through end-to-end, spotting errors quickly, and creating a clear audit trail that stands up to scrutiny and supports a revised final submission.
What you’ll be doing
- Carrying out a detailed data audit of the source data feeding an HMRC submission
- Reconciling datasets, checking integrity/consistency, and identifying gaps or anomalies
- Investigating and documenting root causes of errors (not just fixing the outputs)
- Producing a robust audit trail: evidence, assumptions, checks performed, and outcomes
- Supporting the creation of a final revised submission, with clear sign-off documentation
- Working closely with stakeholders (finance/tax/data teams) to validate findings and agree corrections

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
