Data Automations Manager

Location: Hybrid – Manchester – 3 days on site
Salary: From £50,000 to £65,000

The Data Automation Manager will have end-to-end ownership of the Salesforce tools that support customer engagement and commercial activity across the business, including Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud and Personalization. Together, these form the Salesforce ecosystem used to manage customer data, automation and multi-channel journeys.

The role also leads a small specialist team of Data Automation Leads, setting clear direction, building technical capability and making sure the team has the right processes, controls and shared knowledge in place.

As part of the team responsible for the Single Customer View, the role ensures reliable data flows in and out of the Salesforce ecosystem, supporting good data hygiene and clean customer records for targeting, segmentation, journey delivery and reporting. It combines technical depth, delivery discipline, people leadership and commercial understanding to strengthen the data foundations behind customer engagement and wider business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic direction for how the Salesforce ecosystem powers customer communications across channels.
  • Maintain and enhance the Single Customer View, supporting good data hygiene and accurate, timely data flows into the Salesforce ecosystem for targeting, segmentation and reporting.
  • Ensure internal systems connect smoothly with the Salesforce ecosystem, providing solution design input and making sure data, events and logic support secure, real-time and multi-channel journeys.
  • Oversee data pipelines, automations, change controls and delivery guardrails so journeys, triggers and audience logic remain consistent, compliant and safe.
  • Lead, support and develop the Data Automation team, helping to reduce key-person dependency through mentoring, documentation, knowledge-sharing and clear technical guidance.
  • Embed practical governance, documentation and handover processes so changes are easier to manage and technical knowledge is retained within the team.
  • Work closely with CRM, Commercial, Data Insights, Analytics and Salesforce DevOps teams to support journey orchestration and measurement.
  • Enable personalisation at scale by putting the right data, rules and platform capabilities in place.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, automate manual tasks and improve how data and platforms are used across the customer lifecycle.
  • Support reliable reporting and dashboards that help teams self-serve and make informed decisions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
