About The Role
Futures recruitment are looking to appoint a proactive and analytical Data Business Analyst to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning data into meaningful business insights, improving reporting processes, and working closely with stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
You'll be responsible for analyzing business data, developing dashboards, automating reports, and identifying opportunities to improve operational performance. This position requires strong SQL skills, experience with Power BI, and advanced Excel capabilities, including VBA or a strong understanding of Excel automation.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing data visibility and accuracy, enabling the organization to make informed strategic decisions. You will collaborate with various departments to understand their analytical needs and deliver solutions that optimize business operations. Qualifications
- Proven experience in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and manipulate large datasets efficiently.
- Hands-on experience creating and maintaining dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, Lookups, and complex formulas.
- Experience with VBA or a strong background in Excel automation and advanced spreadsheet development.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with multiple data sources and relational databases.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse, and interpret data from various business systems to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Write, optimise, and validate SQL queries to extract relevant data for reporting and analysis.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI that provide real-time insights.
- Create automated reporting solutions using Excel, VBA, and Power Query to streamline data processes.
- Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within data sets that can drive business improvement.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their reporting requirements and translate them into effective analytical solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all reporting platforms and processes.
- Support various business projects by providing detailed analytical insights and performance metrics.
- Document reporting procedures, data definitions, and business requirements to ensure clarity and repeatability.
- Recommend and implement improvements to existing reporting and analytical processes for enhanced efficiency.
