🌳 Data Business Analyst (Microsoft Purview) | Central Government | Active SC | Contract 🌳
Help protect the data behind services that millions of people rely on. This is a chance to shape data security from the ground up. You'll join a major UK central government department at the start of a new programme: an intelligent service platform built within Technology Services and then rolled out across the department's whole digital function. You'll be there from Discovery through to Alpha, so your analysis will set the direction for how sensitive data is protected across the organisation and beyond it.
📍 Location: Hybrid. On-site at least once a week in Newcastle, Manchester or Leeds
🔐 Clearance: Active SC required
💰 Rate: Up to £340/day

What you'll be doing
🌳 Working with a central Data & Analytics Hub and its wider teams to map how data moves today and how well it's protected
🌳 Defining how protection for data at rest and in transit should grow, inside the department and across its external boundaries
🌳 Eliciting, defining and managing requirements that turn security goals into deliverable outcomes
🌳 Finding and driving business process improvements
🌳 Building trusted relationships with stakeholders across teams and organisational boundaries

What you'll bring
🌳 Proven experience as a Business Analyst on data, security or information protection work
🌳 Delivery experience with Microsoft 365, specifically Microsoft Purview Information Protection, plus Exchange/Email, SharePoint and Teams
🌳 Strong skills in requirements elicitation, process analysis and stakeholder engagement
🌳 Experience working in Discovery and Alpha phases
🌳 Active SC clearance (essential)
Desirable
🌳 Experience in a large civil service or central government organisation
