Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Data Cabling Engineer role located in London. The Data Cabling Engineer will install, terminate, test, and maintain structured cabling systems for data and voice networks, including copper and fiber optic cabling. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, routing and labeling cables, installing network cabinets, patch panels, and wall outlets, and ensuring all work meets company and industry standards. The role involves diagnosing connectivity issues, performing repairs, documenting installations, and coordinating with project managers and other engineers to deliver projects on schedule. The engineer will adhere to health and safety regulations, maintain tools and equipment, and provide clear communication on project status and technical issues.

  • Data Engineering and Data Warehousing skills to support the design and organization of network-related data systems.
  • Data Modeling and Extract Transform Load (ETL) skills to structure and manage data flows between network monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Data Analytics skills to interpret performance metrics, identify issues, and recommend improvements in network and cabling infrastructure.
  • Experience with structured cabling installation (copper and fiber), cable termination, and certification using testing tools.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, switches, routers, Wi-Fi access points) and industry standards for cabling (e.g., TIA/EIA).
  • Ability to read floor plans and technical diagrams, work safely on-site, and lift or handle equipment as required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication.
  • Relevant technical certification or training (e.g., cabling or networking qualifications) is preferred; prior experience in data cabling or network installation is highly beneficial.
